Samaritan’s Star Gala Highlighted Stellar Care and Caregivers Circle of Excellence Award Celebrated Community Service
The Star Gala, Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice’s annual event, held recently at the Crowne Plaza, Cherry Hill, NJ, raised more than $194,000 to sustain the not-for-profit organization’s charitable mission. Emceed by 6ABC Action News anchor Rick Williams, the event included dinner, live music, dancing, and a silent auction, with all proceeds benefitting Samaritan’s programs and services for those coping with serious illness and grief.
Attended by more than 350 guests, the Gala was supported by its 25 committee and board members, as well as many sponsors and advertisers. In addition, supporters were able to purchase decorative stars to memorialize loved ones and/or the Samaritan staff or volunteers who assisted in their care. Winners of the organization’s annual Delightful Dining raffle were Dr. Michael Entmacher and Joanne DeFeo.
During the gala, Samaritan awarded its annual Circle of Excellence award to SJ Magazine Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Marianne Aleardi for her personal and professional dedication to Samaritan and the South Jersey community.
