01/31/10

Attorney Julie LaVan and Verification Technology Systems previously aired on an episode of ABC’s Reality Show, Shark Tank this past Friday, January 29th at 9:00pm on ABC. The episode featured Michael Schiavone, a Lancaster County Pennsylvania resident, pitching his product “Caffeindicator™” (Caffeine-D-Kator), the first litmus-like tester incorporated on a sweetener packet which changes color in the presence of caffeine. Thanks to Mark Burnett for producing the show which has become a hit in many households across the country.
Michael Schiavone stated, "ABC’s Shark Tank provided an incredible opportunity for anyone to showcase their brilliant marketing ideas. Advances in nano technology has allowed for a new generation of simple, consumer friendly, cost effective visual tests to be developed and in this case, made available to the world through the sweetener packet industry. The Companies President and Chief Science Officer, Allan D. Pronovost, PhD. based in San Diego, California, has developed the proprietary nano technology necessary for this innovative product. We are currently negotiating with one of the major artificial sweetener manufacturers and hope to announce the strategic partnership very shortly".
Julie LaVan, a Moorestown New Jersey resident and local attorney, has a unique approach to negotiating the partnership.  "Her familiarity of the project and the legal process is of great benefit in moving this forward," stated Michael Schiavone.
Verification Technology Systems, LLC, is engaged in the development of safe, consumer-friendly tests used by consumers to verify specific ingredients which may not be otherwise detectable. These litmus-like tests utilize our proprietary delivery system making the usage of our product very affordable and attractive to industry specific manufacturers.

  •   This month we continue to track some key metrics that create a snapshot of the regional economy. As you look at the statistics, remember that they will represent the most recent data available (to us), so if you have something that is more up-to-date or more accurate, please let us know.
Here’s our look at where the region stands at the mid-way point of the third quarter.
Casino revenues for July were up from June by almost $80 million, but still off from 2009 levels by 5%.

  •   As you know, this year, your favorite regional business publication has turned its attention from profiling South Jersey’s “People to Watch” to “Projects to Watch.”
Specifically, we’re going county-by-county and looking at the development and redevelopment Projects to Watch, including (when we can) the most important projects completed in the last 12 months, the most important projects underway, and the most important projects on the drawing board.
