SJGR Tries To Lift Your Spirits

Certified Ghost Researchers Will Investigate What’s Haunting You, For Free
It could be the ultimate busman’s holiday.
For her day job, Jamie Eachus is an Angel Therapy Practitioner and Medium, as well as a Reiki Master who teaches energy healing.
Then on weekends she gets away from it all by coming to your house and talking to ghosts.
Eachus, 30, who grew up in Pittsgrove and graduated from Thomas Edison State College, is the co-director of South Jersey Ghost Research, a volunteer, non-profit group that provides investigations and interrogations of things you think are going bump in the night.
“We do take donations, but everything we do for people is free,” says Eachus, who along with director Dave Juliano, is a SJGR Certified Investigator. “Anybody who says they can get rid of ghosts is just taking your money. You can’t force a ghost or spirit to leave, but you sure can make them uncomfortable.:
“In the majority of cases, we ease a person’s mind. When people call us and say, ‘We don’t know if we’re crazy, but … we think our house is haunted,’ we begin the process to see a full investigation is needed. Truth is, some people may have to live with a benign spirit in the attic. But once we fill in the blanks, people are OK with it.”
If you engage SJGR, you’ll be given a 48-question survey to complete, which helps the team decide the extent of an initial visit. And if paranormal activity is probable, SJGR members hold a 3-4 hour stake-out in your home and have a good talking-to with the spirit in question.
“I focus on spirits who are stuck,” says Eachus. “The way I handle the conversation is I counsel them to get peace and be assured that it’s OK to cross over, since they might be apprehensive about which direction they’ll be heading once they get there.”
The SJGR team, consisting of dozens of volunteer investigators from Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties, also advises homeowners on how to dislodge mean-spirited spirits.
“We often find, as we do in this life, someone who is a bitchy or cranky ghost,” says Eachus. “So we advise the property owner to play beautiful music, or let in plenty of sunshine, for instance. It encourages the ghost to move on or settle down.”
In her day job, Eachus takes great pride in her work an angel therapy specialist and medium.
“I joined SGJR in 2005, but I have been intuitive since I was a child,” she says. She is the owner of The Ancient Healing Center in Pittsgrove, and handles clients on-site, via email or telephone.
Who are her customers?
“Anybody looking to become empowered by healing themselves,” says Eachus. “Angels know this, and they are non-denominational. The Angels guide me – channeling messages, redirecting energy and connecting me to your inner guidance. I see all types of clients who seek help to move through life: doctors, cops, professors, mechanics, homemakers. Anyone who wants to make a spiritual connection.”
She charges $125 per hour; $65 per half hour, and also offers group discounts.
Her fees do increase if you need her to be a medium to reach someone on the other side. “It costs more,” she says, “because it is physically more draining on me.”
Her weekend work with Juliano and the rest of SJGR team of investigators also can be tiring, but fulfilling.
“I doubt we’ll ever catch a ghost in a jar,” she says, “and spending 3 or 4 hours in the dark with a ghost, gathering psyhic and scientific evidence is not easy. But this evidence helps us educate people, calming them down. That’s worth it right there.”
