07/06/08

Program Manager Lorin Powell and District Manager Linda Caruso Honored
The Just Kids Program swept Archway Programs inaugural Leader and Employee of the Year awards when Program Manager Lorin Powell of Shamong was named Leader of the Year and District Manager Linda Caruso of Washington Township was named Employee of the Year.
Powell, who has worked for Archway’s Just Kids program since March 2001, demonstrated effective leadership and creativity while also serving as director of Camp Happy Times.  Described by a colleague as “professionalism personified” with an engaging smile, Powell interacts with families, providers and her staff in a "caring manner that exudes her constant and sincere devotion to the well being of others.”
In her nomination, Caruso was cited for excelling in all areas that reflect the mission and vision of Archway. She relates to staff and parents in a compassionate, yet professional manner, often placing others’ needs above hers.
Powell and Caruso were each presented with an “Archie” trophy and a $500 honorarium. They joined Archway executives for a luncheon in their honor.

  •  For the fifth month, we’re taking a crack at identifying the men and women who make the region go…on a county-by-county basis.
It’s our listing, based on our reader’s suggestions, of at least some of the men and women who keep South Jersey on the move.
We started with Burlington and moved on to Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. Now this month’s list focuses on the movers and shakers in Cape May County. Next month it will be Atlantic County.
