Alzheimer’s Golf Classic Set For May 20 Eagles’ Jon Runyan To Guest At Annual Fundraiser
05/04/08
Eagles will join with eagles May 20 as The Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter hosts its 8th Annual Spring Golf Classic at Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill. Special guest for the fundraiser will be Philadelphia offensive tackle Jon Runyan.
This year’s tournament has slots for 128 golfers, who can register online at www.alz.org/desjsepa. Cost for a single golfer is $425, which includes lunch courtesy of Carrabba’s Italian Grill, a cocktail party and buffet dinner.
A wide range of corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are also available, ranging from Masters Sponsor at $7,500 down to $350 for a Hole Sponsor. In addition to two foursomes, Masters Sponsors will receive two full-page color ads in the souvenir program, on-site signage, invitations for four additional guests to the cocktail party and buffet dinner, and recognition on the chapter’s website. A portion of all contributions and sponsorships are tax-deductible.
“The golf tournament is always a great day for the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, with great, caring people, terrific food and a fun atmosphere,” says South Jersey’s Executive Director Linda Coppinger. “And Jon Runyan’s participation will only add to the special nature of the event.”
Runyan, who also serves on the board of directors for the Chapter, has been personally touched by Alzheimer’s disease. Both he and his wife, Loretta, lost grandparents to the debilitating disease.
Every 71 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease. More than 5.2 million nationwide are coping with its devastating effects.
The Delaware Valley Chapter covers 17 counties in South Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware, serving more than 294,000 individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder.
