Give and You Shall Receive: A Night of Holiday “Food-raising”

11/20/07

November 14, 2007 - Collingswood, NJ – Grooveground is teaming up with the Food Bank of South Jersey to drive out hunger and raise awareness of the plight of our neighbors in need. On Thursday, November 29th from 6 PM to 10 PM, Grooveground kicks-off their annual food drive with a “Give and You Shall Receive” launch party with live music, special drinks and a percentage off all purchases for every item donated. The public can continue to drop-off packaged food items or “in-care” monetary donations through December 16th.
This type of fundraising has been an evolution for Grooveground. “The event represents what we’re all about,” says Andrew Widmann, Manager of Grooveground. “We want to create opportunities for ourselves and our customers to fulfill needs in the community. If you make giving creative, it becomes fun, affordable and accessible where it once may have gone unnoticed. Our goal is to make giving and global issues an integral part of the Grooveground experience as well as our customers’ everyday lives.”

It’s our listing, based on our reader’s suggestions, of at least some of the men and women who keep South Jersey on the move.
We started with Burlington and moved on to Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. Now this month’s list focuses on the movers and shakers in Cape May County. Next month it will be Atlantic County.
