Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation (ARVF) To Honor Two Local Humanitarians
The Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation (ARVF), a local nonprofit dedicated to helping hospitalized children, announces the celebration of their 10th Anniversary this fall. The Foundation will be holding its annual Birthday Bash gala this October 5, 2012 to commemorate a decade of giving.
This year, the foundation is proud to honor two outstanding humanitarians for their exceptional commitment to both ARVF and the local community. Recipients include Corporate Champion Rob Curley and Community Champion A. Pepe Piperno.
Our Corporate Champion Rob Curley, South Jersey President of TD Bank (America’s Most Convenient Bank), has been instrumental in supporting ARVF through corporate giving since 2003. Through Rob’s support, TD Bank has been a featured sponsor in our annual fundraising events which are crucial to sustaining and fulfilling ARVF’s mission to enrich the lives of hospitalized children in the tri-state area. With the enrollment in TD Bank’s Affinity Program in 2008, ARVF has reaped the benefits of a partnership with TD Bank bringing non-profit supporters together at no cost to them.
Rob is responsible for the leadership and growth of a 67 store retail network, retail lending, government banking, and corporate giving as well as management of commercial and small business lending teams throughout Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. He has been with TD Bank since June 1989 where he started as a part-time Teller. Over the years, he has served in various capacities including Burlington and Camden counties Regional Vice President, Retail Lending Department Head, Regional Team Leader in Center City Philadelphia, Commercial Lender in Gloucester County and the Loan Workout Department. Rob is a graduate of Penn State University. He has two children and resides in Marlton, NJ.
Our Community Champion Adolfo Pepe Piperno, CEO and Owner of A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts (the fourth largest arts and crafts retailer in the country, and Owner of Sbar’s Inc., (one of the largest arts & crafts distributors in the US, including its proprietary Nicole Crafts products). ARVF was introduced to Pepe in 2008 as it needed a vision and new products for its Victorious-4-Teens Program. Pepe came to the rescue. He redesigned packaging for the Teen Kits, as well as resourcing the items. He also ‘lent’ us his graphic artists which designed our first publication, Totally 4 Teens Activity Journal.
Pepe is a philanthropist and humanitarian that dedicates much of his time to charitable organizations in Camden, NJ through the Domenica Foundation, which he founded in his mother’s name in 1991. At age 13, Pepe began working for a local neighborhood store – helping with odd jobs, and eventually delivering goods to customers. As the company grew, so did Pepe’s interest and talents, giving him more responsibilities. He eventually bought the company from Mr. Sbar's in 1987, and later opened offices in Asia, and a distribution center in England. In 2011, Pepe purchased and took private A.C. Moore Crafts. After 49 years in the arts and crafts industry, this truly is an “American Dream” come true. Pepe is married to wife Peggy for 32 years. They have 3 children: Anthony, Dominic and Elena.
